INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (July 15, 2010) – DeltaWing RacingCars, of Indianapolis, issued the following statement:

We wish to congratulate the ICONIC Committee and the IZOD IndyCar Series on their decision regarding the 2012 chassis strategy. However, we are extremely disappointed that they have decided to pursue a strategy that does not include the DeltaWing.

The DeltaWing concept was designed to provide a relevant solution to the environmental, economic and social realties that must be addressed by all premier status racing series. We proposed a revolutionary solution that met or exceeded all of the IndyCar Series criteria for the new car, resulting in a chassis with half the weight, half the drag, half the cost, half the horsepower and half the fuel consumption of the existing IndyCar. This was accomplished with a design that would provide more on-track excitement and performance on every circuit where the IZOD IndyCar Series competes and the potential for 235 mph or faster laps at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Our many partners and supporters have invested significant time, financial resources and effort into DeltaWing. We want to thank them for their commitment, courage and vision for the future. We have initiated the process of reviewing options for DeltaWing which we will present to our investors, industrial partners and governmental advisors. We will announce our plans for the DeltaWing in the near future.

Innovative thermoplastic composite Tegris® from Milliken will enhance performance and impact resistance of DeltaWing chassis

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (April 26, 2010) – DeltaWing LLC, of Indianapolis, today announced an important step in making motorsports even safer in the future. DeltaWing’s prototype chassis for the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series will feature Milliken & Company’s revolutionary Thermoplastic Composite, Tegris®, which will make the DeltaWing car one of the lightest, most impact energy absorbent and intrusion resistant open wheel racing cars ever created.

“From the beginning of the DeltaWing project, enhancing safety was a top priority so we looked for new technologies that could be applied to make the chassis stronger and safer, while reducing mass at the same time” said Ben Bowlby, Designer and Chief Technology Officer of DeltaWing LLC. “Milliken’s Tegris material has excellent impact energy management characteristics while being extremely light weight. This is an example of a new material that has helped the DeltaWing design team achieve its extraordinary efficiency performance targets.”

“Our designers were inspired by the remarkable properties of Tegris and the extensive application of the material in composite armor for US military vehicles,” said Dan Partel, CEO of DeltaWing LLC.
